歐盟電梯CE認證指令2014/33/EU于2016年4月20日正式實施，取代原有指令95/16/EC。主要協調標準EN 81-20和EN 81-50于2017年起強制實施，替代舊版EN 81-1和EN 81-2標準。電梯CE認證指令構成了歐盟電梯市場準入的核心法規框架，所有進入歐盟市場的電梯產品都必須按照2014/33/EU的要求進行CE認證，由歐盟公告機構Notified Body進行合規性評估后，方能滿足指令要求。

電梯CE認證適用范圍

指令應適用于永久服務于建筑物和構筑物并用于運輸以下物品的電梯：
（一）人;
（二）人員和貨物;
（三）如果承運人可以進入，即一個人可以毫無困難地進入貨物，并且裝有位于承運人內部或承運人內部人員可觸及范圍內的控制裝置。
根據指令要求，電梯被定義為"在固定導軌上運行且與水平面夾角大于15度的升降設備"，其載體必須可供人員使用或配備可從內部操作的控制裝置。

技術文件要求
制造商需準備包含以下內容的技術文檔：
-設計文件：
型號電梯的完整技術描述、設計與制造圖紙、示意圖、設計計算書與安全評估報告
-符合性證據：
適用的協調標準清單、安全部件符合性聲明副本、測試報告與檢驗記錄、安裝階段的質量控制措施

認證實施流程
-技術評審階段：
技術文件審核（設計計算、風險評估、圖紙審查）、模型電梯符合性評估、安全部件與整梯性能復核
-現場驗證階段：
依據EN 81-20/50標準進行現場測試，不符合項整改與復檢
-認證完成階段：
歐盟公告機構簽發電梯CE認證證書
